Hurricane Helene has left so many areas in disaster. Understanding our congregations needs during a time like this is critical.
“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” – Galatians 6:10 ESV
Being able to communicate to your entire congregation can be challenging, but ChurchNET can be here to help. ChurchNET is able to mass text or email your entire congregation with extremely high throughputs rates of 3000 messages per minute
Mass Texting Case Study
Central Church of Christ in Johnson City, TN wanted to be able to check in on all their members. Having roughly 500 members it can be an important but daunting task. As one way to achieve this, the following message was sent out:
We pray you are all safe after the recent storm. We would like to get a head count and help our members in need. Please respond to this text and let us know if you are okay or if you need any assistance. Your well-being is important to us. – In Christian love, Central Church of Christ
Thankfully many members have reported to doing well. However, one member had requested water and baby wipes. It is very possible this member would have never requested the churches help, however, due to the nature text being so non-personal we believe people are more willing to ask for help versus calling.
The Preacher Tim Hall reports:
If that one request for help is all we receive, it was well worth the effort. – Tim Hall
As this is being published Central Church of Christ is still receiving responses for their members.
More Testing and Emailing Features In Development
We are refining and capability to mass texting and emails such as:
- Ability to create groups and text or email just those groups
- Messaging dashboard to easily see messaging responses as well as text those individuals specifically similar to an iPhone or Android messaging app
- Ability to have guest who register get an automated text, which would allow greeters to respond if the guest’s have any questions.
Mass Texting: Moving To Better Hardware
As it is becoming evident the usefulness with being able to mass text that ChurchNET can be, we are also announcing that we have started the migration from a small worn out private server to the cutting edge of AWS. That means that ChurchNET is moving to AWS which will improve uptime, speed, and reliability!
